Welcome to my portfolio website! I am Cheri Prough DeVol, an American scenic and lighting designer who employs theatrical forms to synthesize my passion for music, storytelling, truth, and beauty. 

Inspired by both physical and metaphorical action in the source material, I create sculptural forms that evoke emotion and provoke movement and rhythms that allow the story to resonate within the performance space.  My scenic designs celebrate negative space, while my lighting designs infuse that space with buoyant energy. 

Currently based in central Texas, I am a Professor at Texas State University and serve as Head of Design in the Department of Theatre and Dance. My work has been produced at regional theatres and universities throughout the United States.
